Today is a special day, the remembrance of the sacrifice that was made for us so many years ago! Jesus suffered a horrible death, so we could be free. Free to be who we are called to be. Free from the sin that weighs us down. Because of his death on the cross, our sins have been forgiven, now and forever!
I don't know about you, but that overwhelms me sometimes. I saw the movie, The Passion of The Christ, and it was excruciating to watch. The horrible torture that he endured was unimaginable! Before that movie, I didn't really think about the actual implications of the crucifixion. What he did was so powerful and I think that sometimes we forget that.
But the best part of it all is, Praise the Lord, Sunday's coming! As powerful as his sacrifice is, his resurrection is even more so! Death could not hold him! He conquered sin and death, and gave us life! Christ came, not to condemn the world, but to save it!
