on the road again!

After spending about a month back in Arizona, we've headed out to see some county. We were back in Arizona to join my brother and sis-in-law in helping my dad sell his house and get him into an apartment close to the care facility my mom is in. It's a load off our minds to know that our 85 year old dad will not be driving the 100 miles every day to be with my mom! It was a bit sad to leave my folks place for the last time. It is the end of an era :(.

Our first day out took us to Mesquite, NV.  It was a nice drive. The picture on the top is from the passenger seat driving through the Lake Mead Recreation Area. It was very beautiful and going that route allowed us to cut off the Las Vegas traffic! Since it is a National Park there is a fee to enter, but because we have a Lifetime Senior Pass to National Parks, we get in free! Yay! There were several campgrounds in the area and we wanted to stay in one, but we had two problems, 1) they were all booked up and 2) we were running low on fuel so we didn't want to venture too far off the road for fear we wouldn't get back out, lol! We need to get better at watching our fuel indicator! Too much beautiful scenery out the window, lol. The Sun Resort RV Park in Mesquite was nice for overnight, and it allowed us to add the Nevada sticker to our map! The criteria for adding a sticker is that we must camp overnight in the state. Papawizzy and I didn't agree originally about the criteria, I thought we should have to stay at least a week! We met some nice people from the southern Idaho area and had good conversation about RVing and where to go when we make it to Idaho.

We were in Utah the next day. We stayed six days in the Washington/St. George area. We spent some quality time with our son and his wife, enjoying the beautiful area, hiking, biking and eating good food. We stayed the first night in the Southern Utah RV Resort. It was nice, but is right on the freeway, so it was kinda noisy. We wanted to stay longer than the one night we were able to book, but St George was hosting the IronMan competition that weekend, and every place we called was full. Our daughter-in-law recommended we look at a new RV park called Desert Canyons RV Park. It didn't even show up on any of our travel apps, which is probably why they had a spot for us! They had only been open for about a month. It was a little out of the way, but quieter and had hike/bike trails right outside the park! We were able to stay there another 5 nights. The extra nights allowed us to attend church with our son. I took a photo of him and Papawizzy in front the Cross he created for their church. It was a great visit!

Once we left the area, we headed north and stayed one more night in Utah. We stopped in Provo for the night. Staying in the Lakeside RV Park and Campground. It was good for the night, we didn't even unhook so we could head out early the next day. The RV park is located next to Utah Lake, but we didn't really get to check it out. However, we did see some interesting things there. Right next to us was a storage facility/sign museum. Not something you see everyday, lol. Utah is such a beautiful State! There is so much opportunity for outdoor recreation, and the scenery is beautiful! Papawizzy would move there in an instant.

Blessings,
Mamawizzy
