yosemite!

Yosemite is so beautiful, if you've never been there you need to go! What an amazing place! We spent a few days there recently and had a wonderful time. The picture above was taken just after we finished the Four Mile Hike - we mapped it on our gps and it's more like 6 miles!  The hike is basically straight up! And although I'm smiling, my feet are killing me and I'm exhausted!  We went to dinner after that and I was too tired to eat!

One of the things I will miss about California is the beautiful terrain.  There is such geographical diversity in this State - beaches, rivers, mountains, deserts, you can find so much to do and see.  We love to ride our mountain bikes around the lake and hike in the mountains.

And the weather is wonderful as well, particularly in the Sacramento area where even when it's 100 degrees during the day, you usually get the delta breeze to cool you off in the evening.  Winters can get cold, but not too bad, no shoveling snow or endless days of rain.  All this wonderful weather provides us with a long growing season that gives us great produce!

I will not miss, however, the current economy, tax structure and political environment!  I say that with the utmost respect, and know that desertion is not the way to change, but sometimes it is necessary for one's health and wellbeing!

And... gotta see those grandbabies!
