I just love this picture of my folks with their newest great-granddaughter! And I don't think it was intended, but with the picture of little Miss Anna's parents in the background, it's kinda neat. I feel very blessed to have parents who are interested in being a part of their grandchildren's lives.
I know of many families who are not blessed with this multi-generational connection. So often we humans are caught up in selfishness and concern for ourselves that we forget how to forgive and accept other people who are different from us. I am not immune from this for sure! I became very aware of this when my children started choosing their mates. We have in our minds that perfect someone for each of our children, and for some reason, they often don't agree with us. But I think that is the wonderful thing about God, he knows what we need better than we do!
So He brings people into our lives to help us to grow and learn and realize that we are not perfect, but that relationship is worth the effort. I remember when our daughter was getting married, I had the perfect wedding planned, but to my dismay, they had other plans! Well it was a beautiful wedding and almost 6 years and two gorgeous daughters later, they're working it out and growing and developing their own life and style.
Now it's our son's turn, and being parents of the groom is a little different, but we look forward to the day and the adventure that ensues after the ceremony! We know that there are going to be struggles, but we choose to trust that the Lord will have his hand on them. And of course, we look forward to little red-headed grandbabies!
Blessings,
Mamawizzy
