from RV to House
Yep, we're excited! We will be moving out of the RV and into a house later this month. It came about rather unexpectedly. We had intended to stay in the RV for about a year and then look for a place, but it's getting hot and feeling more and more cramped! We made it seven months.
I look regularly at properties for sale and for rent on the internet and we drive around to look at them, and usually the properties that we see in our price range aren't exactly what we want, but it amuses us and helps us learn more about the area.
It was one of those Saturday afternoons that we were driving around looking at rentals. I think we drove around to about eight different properties, and six of the eight were not appealing at all. The last two were newer, in an area that we liked, and in our budget, so we called about seeing them and found that one already had multiple applications on it, so we set up to see the last one. It's funny, once the opportunity presented itself, Papawizzy and I went back and forth about if we should rent a place or stay in the RV. First it was going to be more expensive, and it would mean that we would have at least one more move before we could get settled. But it would be much more comfortable! I would have an office, Maggie would have a back yard, Papawizzy could work around the house or watch baseball/Nascar/golf (fill in the sport) while I work, we could get our stuff out of storage - and the best thing of all - we would have a guest room!
It's so funny how God works, we make our plans but he orders our steps. I could go down a long list of things in my life that didn't go as I planned, but every time they worked out. And usually better than I expected. I never expected to leave California, to move to Texas, to live in a RV, but I think I have grown through each experience. I look forward with excitement to the next chapter in this little house with a back yard that I can garden in and a guest room for visitors!
Blessings,
Mamawizzy
P.S. the house above is just a representation
Congratulations! Although I did enjoy reading your mis/adventures in the RV I'm excited to hear about this next chapter in Texas!
ReplyDeleteOkay, i laughed pretty hard at the "disclaimer" regarding the above rendering of the house. Too funny, even for you. That said, I have no doubt that the both of you will be happier with a bit more space...The 5th wheel idea never sounded good to me at all. 7 months is worthy of high praise, sister.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the move!
