What do you do when life is difficult? When life has taken a turn that you hadn't planned? A turn that is in no way fun? Do you blame God? Will you trust Him to bring you through or will you turn your back on Him?
When I read the Scripture that says, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." -Romans 8:28 NIV. As humans, we tend to think that it's the good things that are good for us, but sometimes it's the bad things that are really good for us. Reading my devotional today it said, "Your failures can be a source of blessing, humbling you and giving you empathy for other people in their weaknesses. Best of all, failure highlights your dependance on Me." I love that! Thankfully, He knows we are weak, and in our weakness, He is strong!
We have a family member in this position right now, and he is the first to admit that it was poor choices that brought him to this point. And these choices may affect him for the rest of his life, but to the glory of God, he has humbled himself and is looking to Him to bring him through. This trial has changed him, it has been both excruciatingly painful and exhilaratingly exciting to watch the transition! It has been an example of the lengths to which the Lord will go to save us. And the grace that He pours out on us when we come to Him.
So at this point, we do not know what the outcome will be, but we are watching God work! And we are praying for a miracle! And whatever happens, we will trust Him! So, what do you do when life is difficult? I pray that you run into the loving arms of our wonderful, powerful God!
Blessings,
