not what we expected ...

Well to say the last couple weeks have been a little crazy would be an understatement! We were booked in a lovely campground on Lake Georgetown until April 17th, but as of March 23rd all the campgrounds closed! So our reservations were cancelled and we were left scrambling to find a place to park our rig while we stay in the area to complete some warranty work and attend some family events! There was a point where we thought we were going to have to hit the road and go to my folks house in Arizona because they have a place on their property where we could park. What made it more difficult was that everyone else was displaced as well and spots were filling up quickly. Fortunately we were able to get the second to the last spot in a RV park in Jarrell, TX! Our view went from this -

                to this ---->

We are doing our best to get acclimated to this new lifestyle and staying positive while the world goes crazy. We were able to take our first bike ride of our adventure and it was wonderful! Then we had family over for a bbq. I had planned to have hamburgers and hotdogs, but alas there weren't any hamburgers or hotdogs at the store! I had to improvise and use what we could find at the store and what I had on hand. The chicken, steak and bean concoction was a hit! We enjoyed our last few days at the Cedar Breaks Park on Lake Georgetown by taking a hike on the San Gabriel Trail and walking down the path from our campsite to the lake. When we left, the campground looked like a ghost town!

Through it all, we are getting a lot of set up and tear down experience! This is a good thing and it's getting less stressful each time we do it. We are learning something new each day, like where our solar connection is (on the roof) and how long we can go before we have to dump our tanks (about a week when it's just Papawizzy and I). Although now that we're in a location with full hook-ups, we don't have to worry about that!! Whoo hoo! I am learning to take a breath and trust that the Lord is going to work out all the details.

Hopefully it won't be long before we can start on our real adventure instead of doing the "shelter in place". We're not sure if the anxiety we are feeling is from the new lifestyle we're beginning or the coronavirus! When we started this adventure we had no idea what awaited us, but we are thankful that we are well, our family is well, we have a place to sleep, and the Lord is in control!

Blessings,
Mamawizzy
