are we ever going to get out of Texas!

It kinda seems like there's never a dull moment on our adventure. I'm all for excitement, but when your day goes from a beautiful day of bike riding through the local countryside; seeing the sites and getting some exercise, to a major thunderstorm in a matter of hours, that's a little much! And that's not the half of it. The storm came in quickly with over 50MPH winds and lots of rain. Our rig was rocking and rolling! The slides were waving like wings and we had water coming in our windows because the rain was coming so hard! We were standing in the rig, with our hands raised asking the Lord to protect us! We thought we were going to fly away! I asked Papawizzy where he thought the safest place in an RV was, he said there isn't one! He said we should try to get to our truck, but when we looked out the window toward the truck, we saw the strangest thing! The trailer next to us had been blown over and landed on our truck!!!

The next thing I knew, Papawizzy was running out the door into the storm to check and see if there was anyone in the overturned trailer. Luckily there wasn't anyone in it; but shortly after that, the police, firemen, and EMT's showed up to confirm that indeed no one was in the trailer.  Next the news crews started showing up! If you'd like to see the report on the local news channel just go to the link. https://www.fox7austin.com/news/rv-flips-onto-truck-following-storm-in-jarrell

It's funny how plans can change in an instant. Before the storm we had planned on leaving and heading to Arizona early this week. But now, we have our truck in the shop and it's not expected to be repaired for at least 3 weeks! I guess we'll just roll with the punches! Really I'm thankful that we are all okay and we decided to get rental coverage on our insurance! And the lovely family that is renting our house were so sweet, they said if we wanted to come home they would look for another place to rent. I assured them that we were fine and were still planning to move ahead with our "adventure" - eventually!

How are you all (did you notice I didn't say y'all - I'm not quite a Texan yet! lol) doing with the storms of life? There's a big one brewing right now. With this pandemic, there are a lot of people affected. Some physically, some emotionally, some financially, but almost everyone is struggling on some level. Where is your source of strength coming from? We are trusting the Lord for our future. We know that no matter what happens, He has us in the palm of His hands. Life is not "normal" right now, but was "normal" good? What were we all trusting in? Is our faith in our health, our jobs, or our government? So when it's all gone, where do we turn? We know that Hebrew 11:1 says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Will we have the faith that we will see God move in our situation?

It was somewhat ironic that shortly before the storm that changed our plans came through, we were in Land Cemetery reading the monument about a storm that came through in 1997 destroying Jarrell and killing 27 people. Coming through the storm with damage to our truck and a change in our schedule is okay with us, because we don't know what lies ahead in our future, but we do know who holds the future, and we will trust Him!

Blessings,
Mamawizzy

BTW - I know my formatting isn't perfect, but I'm learning and hopefully the new computer I have coming will help! 😁

  1. Oh my! Glad your house is undamaged. Truck looks cosmetic only? I can picture you guys, hands up, surrendering to God's will for you. Nothing else to be done but be steady ready. Life is wonderful no matter how much it sucks. Happy your happy.
