Finally, after more than a year and a half, we have sold our house! It has been a roller-coaster ride for sure. After 5 contracts, 2 escrows and many, many people through our house, it's over! We are thankful for all the support we have received in the process, and especially thankful for our Realtor! We know that the Lord has had His hand in the timing and we are glad that we didn't have to move in the midst of planning a wedding, but toward the end we were growing weary.
It is amazing to see what God has done in the last year and a half! When this journey began we had no idea how much our lives were going to change. Shortly before the real estate crash in California we had bought a brand new house and I had started a new business - residential real estate appraisal. That was a recipe for disaster! Then Papawizzy got sick and ended up in the hospital, it was at that time that he decided to retire. We knew that we were going to have to do something about the house and figured we would be moving. We started looking around the area when my son-in-law asked us if we would consider a move to Texas. You see, our daughter said she would consider it if they could get us to move too (she being pregnant with their second child was going to need her mom nearby). They had an opportunity to move with his company, which would allow my daughter to stay home with their girls. We prayed about it and considered our options. The final confirmation came when my employer said I could work remotely - I wouldn't even lose my job!
So we began the process of planning a move. We told our son what our plan was, hoping that he would consider going with us - he is a student and we figured he would be able to continue school there. He however had other plans. He had just started dating this cute little girl that he met at college, and I guess he really liked her because they are now on their honeymoon in Ireland. So now we have a new daughter-in-law! They will finish their degree programs here and hopefully come to Texas later. I can hope.
We started looking at places to live in Texas, which is not easy from 1800 miles away! We knew that we would need to rent in the beginning and I spent a lot of time on the internet looking at options. We took a couple exploratory trips and thought we had narrowed down our options, when the idea of an RV came to mind. So that's what we've decided to do, and now all we have to do it get there and get set up!
We are looking forward to the new chapter in our lives. It's almost like being newly weds again, except with a little more wisdom - I hope. We are preparing to live the RV lifestyle, down sizing, simplifying. It's exciting - the future is wide open and bright.
So off we'll drive into the sunset - Texas bound!
Blessings,
Mamawizzy
