Happy 1st Birthday, Anna Banana!

This weekend we celebrated one of the sweetest little things I know, Miss Anna Grace!  It was her Tutti Fruity 1st Birthday Party!  It was a great time with yummy food and lots of laughter.  She truly lives up to her name - Grace.  It doesn't matter how much chaos is happening around her, she just smiles.  There's only one thing that can get her down - hunger!  This girl can eat!  Which is nice because her sister lives on air.  I think Anna is the first baby in our family that you haven't had to use the airplane trick to get her to eat!

Her Mom and Dad put lots of work into this party, Dad bar-b-qued, Mom made a beautiful cake, and the house was made festive for the day!  All for this little, sweet person - who won't remember it!  Why do we do it?  Is it even important? I say, a wholehearted YES!  When we celebrate others, we make them feel special, because they are.  We are the image of Christ when we do this.  There are too many people in this world who go through their days feeling worthless and feeling that no one cares for them.  That is not the truth! There are many hurt and angry people in this world because they didn't feel the love.

So you might say, why do it when she is so young and won't remember?  Well, the spirit remembers.  The feeling of acceptance and love starts very early.  God loved us and knew us, even before we were born! So we do this because we want to perpetuate the legacy of love given to us, so that it will continue down through the ages.  We love you, Anna Grace!

And of course we will have pictures!

Blessings,
Mamawizzy

  1. Haha..you just argued my point for doing birthday parties...Jer doesn't get it. But I agree...even if they are young, they do remember time and effort and love. However, I have to challenge myself to make the same effort in everyday life too. Love to hear from you in blogs! Love you guys!!
