We're making progress! It's amazing how fast it's going! I never realized how many decisions there are to make. Sometimes I feel a little sorry for our builder, all the questions we greenhorns have. He is very patient with us, answering all our questions, even the dumb ones. It was also nice to have my dad, who knows construction and is visiting this weekend, give us the thumbs up on the construction quality.
One of the most stressful days was when we picked out our appliances! Appliances are expensive! It was difficult to stay in budget . . . wait we didn't stay in budget! Now we are playing catch up and trying to make up the difference in other areas.
We were able to make up a little on our granite, tile and flooring choices. It was nice to get what we liked and come in under budget. And we had great help with our designers, so it didn't take too long to make decisions. We have our final design appointment next week to choose lighting fixtures and cabinet hardware. After that we will just watch and wait as the house is completed!
Building this home has been fun, stressful and educational. I'm happy that we can trust the Lord as He leads us through this process. From the purchase of the lot to finding a builder and working through the process as things progress, we can see his hand at work. He is guiding us and giving us peace (sometimes it comes after I have done a little freaking out about something) every step of the way. We have faith that when this project is finished we will be able to honor Him with this home.
